Types of cargo
Slow recharge system
Characterised by using alternating current up to 40 Kw.
Fast charging system
Characterised by using direct current at powers between 40 Kw and 100 Kw.
Ultra-fast charging system
Characterised by using direct current at powers greater than 100 Kw.
Charging modes
The charging modes of electric vehicles define certain characteristics about the power and control of the charging facilities.
It is made in alternating current and through domestic plugs at intensities less than 16 amps. Because this charging mode does not have the specific protections for charging electric vehicles, it is only used for low-capacity batteries such as scooters or batteries.
High risk of overheating of the electrical installation caused by the number of hours necessary to carry out the charge.
It is carried out in alternating current, up to 32 amps, in a domestic plug through a specific cable for charging electric vehicles which must have equipment that allows the pilot control function (communication with the vehicle) and an adequate protection system against people.
There is still a risk of overheating of the electrical installation due to the temperature that the domestic outlet can reach depending on the hours necessary for charging. Its occasional use is recommended.
Through a SAVE (Specific Electric Vehicle Power System). It is performed in alternating current.
With intensities of up to 63 amps. This is the most suitable mode for recharging electric vehicles by having the communication with the vehicle and the necessary protections.
It is made in direct current and at high intensities, commonly used in "electrolines" for the short recharge time it offers.
Connecters for charging
Conector Modo 3
Type 1
(SAE J1772)/IEC 62106-2
This connecter is used in single-phase alternating current networks up to 32A, which allows recharges of up to 7.4kW of power.
Formed by 5 pins (phase, neutral, ground and 2 communication).
Known as Yazaki, it is the Asian standard for AC charging.
Conector Modo 3
Type 2
(MENNEKES)/IEC 62196-2
It is the most versatile when used in both single-phase and three-phase networks.
Single-phase: 5 pins (phase, neutral, earth and 2 communication). Up to 32 A and 7.4 Kw of power.
Three-phase: 7 pins (three phases, neutral, ground and 2 communication). Up to 63A and 43.8 Kw.
Conector Modo 4
Type 3
CCS (COMBO)/IEC 62190-1
It is the connecter used for direct current in Europe.
Use the communication and ground pins of the Type 2 connecter and add two DC terminals.
Vehicles equipped with this base are very versatile and comfortable because they allow alternating and continuous loading.
Conector Modo 4
Type 4
CHAdeMO/IEC 62196-1
It’s the DC connecter. It has ten terminals, grounding and communication with the network. It is the one with the largest diameter, both in the connecter and in the cable.
