The first electric car

Did you know that the first electric car was invented more than 100 years ago? That's right!

Electric mobility is today one of the fundamental pillars for a sustainable future, but its history has roots that go back much further than many imagine. Although today electric mobility seems to be something of the future, the first electric vehicles appeared in the 19th century. In 1839, Robert Anderson created the first prototype, although it was not until the 1890s when electric cars really began to take to the streets.

The funny thing is that, at the beginning of the 20th century, electric vehicles were more popular than combustion vehicles. Why? Because they were easier to handle and did not require the physical effort of starting a gasoline engine by hand.

Now, more than a century later, we are returning to electric, but with a technology that has advanced by leaps and bounds. Today, charging your car is as easy as charging your mobile, and at Proelectric we make sure that you always have the best charging point where you need it.

Today, electric cars are at the centre of the sustainable mobility revolution. Thanks to advances in battery technology and charging infrastructure, such as the one offered by Proelectric, electric mobility is more within everyone’s reach than ever. The first electric car may seem rudimentary compared to current models, but it undoubtedly laid the foundations for a future where mobility does not depend on fossil fuels.

Proelectric is proud to be part of this story, contributing to the development of the infrastructure necessary for electric mobility to be a reality in our day to day. As installers of charging points, we continue to move towards a world where electric cars are the norm, not the exception. The journey to sustainability continues!

The future is in the past, but with all the power of the present. Switch to electric mobility and join this energy revolution!
