The Paris Motor Show 2024
The París Motor Show 2024
The 2024 Paris Motor Show has been a showcase of emerging and future trends in the automotive industry, with a strong focus on electrification, connectivity and innovative design. The event stood out for the presentation of electric vehicles, futuristic prototypes and renovations of iconic models.
Electric Revolution: Audi, Renault and Peugeot in the lead
Audi took advantage of the Parisian stage to present the Q6 Sportback e-Tron, a 100% electric SUV with a sporty design and improved aerodynamics. This model stands out for its advanced infotainment technology, which includes a triple screen system and a head-up display with augmented reality. The Q6 Sportback e-Tron promises a range of up to 655 km, which makes it one of the most capable electric SUVs on the market.
For its part, Peugeot brought its new line of electric vehicles to Paris, highlighting three key models: The e-408, the e-3008 (with a range of 700km) and the e-5008 (a seven-seater SUV). The brand also revealed the concept car Inception, which anticipates the future design and technological evolution of Peugeot in the electric age.
Renault, in a clear commitment to nostalgia and modernity, revived the iconic R4 in an electric version called R4 e-Tech, and presented the Emblème prototype, an innovative concept that combines electricity with a hydrogen fuel cell system, which allows it to reach more than 1,000km of autonomy without emissions. The brand also announced a new version of the all-electric Twingo, which will be launched in 2026.
The rise of Chinese manufacturers: Leapmotor and global expansion
The show also showed the growing influence of Chinese brands in the European market. Leapmotor, in particular, attracted attention with the presentation of the B10, a compact electric SUV that will be launched in 2025. The brand, which has forged a strategic alliance with Stellantis, seeks to compete in the segment of accessible electric vehicles, rivalling models from manufacturers such as Hyundai and Kia.
Dacia and Citroën: Innovation in the accessible segment
Dacia presented its new Bigster model, the largest vehicle of the brand to date, an SUV 4.57 metres long that marks a qualitative leap in terms of size and performance. Citroën, on the other hand, renewed the friendly Ami, the small electric car that has sold more than 65,000 units in its first four years, updating it with a new front and rear design.
Trends in design and technology
The Paris Motor Show was not only a stage for the presentation of electric and renewed combustion cars, but also a space for the exhibition of futuristic concepts and cutting-edge technologies. The models presented integrate increasingly advanced functions, such as autonomous driving systems, improved connectivity and digital user experiences. This edition of the Salon reaffirms that the future of the automobile goes through electrification, sustainable and adapted to new consumer demands.
The event has consolidated Paris as a must-see on the agenda of the automotive industry, where major brands present their innovations and compete to lead the race towards the mobility of the future.
