Plan MOVES III 2025

Plan MOVES III 2025

The MOVES III Plan, an initiative of the Spanish Government to promote electric mobility, has been extended until June 30, 2025. This extension seeks to continue incentivising the installation of charging infrastructures, key elements for the transition to more sustainable mobility.

Budget and Aid available

The program, initially endowed with 400 million euros, has increased its total budget to 1,550 million euros to cover this extension. Aid for the purchase of electric vehicles can reach up to 7,000 euros, depending on the specific conditions of each application. In addition, the 15% deduction in the personal income tax for the acquisition of these vehicles is maintained, valid until December 31, 2025.

Beneficiaries of the Plan

The MOVES III Plan is aimed at a wide range of beneficiaries, including individuals, self-employed, communities of owners, companies and local entities. This diversity seeks to facilitate access to aid and promote the adoption of electric mobility in different sectors of society.

Procedures for applying for aid

The aid is managed by the autonomous communities, which implies that the procedures and deadlines may vary according to the region. It is essential that interested parties consult the specific calls of their community to know the necessary details and requirements.

Impact on Electric Mobility

The extension of the MOVES III Plan is a response to the need to continue promoting the electric vehicle market in Spain. Despite previous efforts, the market share of these vehicles is around 5%, below expectations. With this extension, it is expected to significantly increase the adoption of electric vehicles and move towards the established environmental objectives.

Final considerations

Although the extension of the MOVES III Plan is positive news for the electric mobility sector, it is important to emphasize that the aid is not direct and can take between 10 months and a year and a half to be received after the purchase of the vehicle. Therefore, potential beneficiaries are advised to properly plan their investment and be attentive to the calls and procedures established in their autonomous community.
